Our January Update
Dear Friends,
57 days until the release of The Shepherd’s Song.
And we have more good news:
- The rights to the book have been sold to a German publisher – our first foreign translation
- The book has been chosen for several online book clubs – Rhapsody, DBC, LitG and BOMC
- Hodder, a publisher in the UK, will be releasing the book March 13 and will offer the book in Australia and New Zealand
In the book Psalm 23 travels around the world changing lives. Perhaps The Shepherd’s Song will travel around the world just like Psalm 23 in the story.
We just completed our first give-away on Goodreads and the winner is from Ankara, Turkey. Yep, the book is already showing signs of traveling!
This scripture passage is in the front of the book:
So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11
Our prayer request for this month is for you to pray this scripture for The Shepherd’s Song – that the book would go out into the world accomplishing God’s purposes.

Visiting Nashville and Howard Books
Here we are visiting Howard Books in Nashville. It was inspiring to visit the offices where so much creativity and innovation takes place. Everywhere you look is filled with books. We were privileged to spend some extra time with our editor Jessica Wong and with the book designer for The Shepherd’s Song, Bruce Gore.
A highlight of the trip was signing the guitar, a tradition for Howard authors.

Sheep Farm!
What fun we had visiting a sheep farm last week. Nitro, the ram above, is just one of the sheep we encountered – all bigger than we expected. After all the reading we’ve done about sheep, it was fun to spend time with them, comparing what we’ve read to the real thing. More about that later.
Meet Our New Friend Author Dale Cramer
Dale is an award-winning author who has written numerous books and is loaded with wisdom. What a treat to have lunch with him last week at The Gritz in McDonough, GA – lots of good home-cooking and conversation. We immediately connected with Dale and appreciated his willingness to share his experiences and wisdom with us.

Ane Mulligan, author and ACFW area director for the Southeast, is brimming with enthusiasm for books and writing. We had the pleasure of having lunch with Ane and as they say … a good time was had by all.
Large Print Coming!
Good news. Our publisher has already sold the rights for the large print edition of The Shepherd’s Song.
We’ve never sold large print rights before – not much market for that in children’s books! We are excited.
Catalyst = Exhilarating
Couldn’t get a photo with John Piper so …
Exhilarating is a great word to describe the Catalyst conference. We have been seeking God’s council in several areas and we heard words of wisdom throughout the conference. So grateful!
